1. Does 4x5.65 filters cover the full range? (dont see why not)

2. Does the RR Micro matte box work on it?

I can't say this from experience, but Brian at RR said that they were making a new back for the RR follow focus that will fit it. It has also been reported that it fits with just the slightest degree of filing away of the current mattebox opening.

Yes, as they've pointed out

rotating those wont work though

2. Does the RR Micro matte box work on it?

Yes, but it has to be modified, by sanding down the sides. I put some velcrow to prevent scratches when putting on and taking off, and should be taken to the red line to prevent vigneting.

I'll post pictures of what I mean tonight if I haven't taken too many at st. patty's

1> Yes, 4x5 filters work. Be careful when shooting wide if you have 3 or more stages on there. I recommend 5x65 square filters for any filters you intend to rotate. Actually you will need them for any filters that rotate. RedRock still has not released a 5.65 square tray for the mattebox. It will work with Arri trays (expensive). Adorama sells some other trays that fit Chrosziel matteboxes that may work, but have not tried them and they are about $80 if I recall. I keep wanting to try them, but never do it.

2> RR mattebox works with slight sanding modification. I suggest removing the rear bellows piece to work on it. Or contact RedRock, they may swap out that rear piece for you with their new shipping model that fits without modification.

Yes and yes:

The newer RedRockMicro rear circle fits perfectly. If you haven't bought a RR matte box yet just mention you need it for the 18-85, otherwise talk to them about getting a replacement back plate (very cheap I believe) or as others mentioned, just sand down your existing one a bit which we did initially.

I can say though it's a pain to sand and the RedRock one fits perfectly, so if I had the choice again, I'd definitely just get the RedRock first up!
