Do you guys have any projected sales and ship date for the 18-85 zoom?

Also I'd suggest changing the name of this subforum to "lens" since there is so much glass to talk about now.

I asked Jim at NAB "when can I expect to receive my 18-85 lens". He told me "end of June or July" That seemed earlier than I'd expected. End of 08' seems more likely, but that was the answer strait from the horses mouth.

That's my biggest problem. If it is June, fine! I can wait. If it is December, I need to order something else now (Zeiss MPs, LWZ or Cooke) and spend substantially more. In such case I won't be buying other lenses for the next 6-8 years, regardless of how much better or/and cheaper they are.

Timing is everyting in real life and a camera without a lens is like a medieval soldier without a sword.

The 18-85 is so bad-ass. I played with at NAB and was really impressed by the mechanics, look, image, overall feel.. It's everything a Red lens should be & more.. Their mattebox also looked killer. Looked better than my expensive ARRI LMB-5!
