  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

18-85 T2.9 RED zoom...

Why him? This guy posted the most awful underexposed footage ever posted at Reduser. Almost canceled my Red reservation.

Are you for real Mr. King?

What's your real name?

I am drying to see the surely amazing body of work you must have to be such a fucking expert on exposing REDCODE RAW -

PLEASE tell us all how it's REALLY done Don -

I never knew your eyes were green...

Jealousy is a lousy emotion.

Simple fact, Offhollywood has done more RED productions than you have posts on this forum. You may not like some footage you've seen from those projects and thats your prerogative. However considering the topic of this thread is about a lens and shipping order, your decision to voice said opinion under this context is uncalled for.

Good luck making friends around here.

So about the lens....

Where on this lens would I place a support ring that allows for the use of a Zoom motor and supports the lens also without obstructing the scales?

I guess someone will have to design something pretty nifty that allows you to see the scales.

I had motors on yesterday - without obstructing the scales - but that was using my little Zacuto rod support solution - which i am kinda diggin' now -

The Red Lens Support for the 18-85 is trailing in production... should be a few more weeks out.

Yes the Zacuto thing is cute but I wouldn't support the lens this way when on a car rig, helicopter, etc. as it only holds the weight but does not deal with left to right and up inertia if I see your images correctly. It will certainly work for most studio situations though.

What is the Red support bracket plan? Will it include a motor bracket as an option?

Hi,

T stops & witness marks, pleased you have been listening.

Geez Don King, what's with the negativity? No time for that around here..

Have you any test footage yet Mark? The lens has the looks but does it cut it where it matters?

Cheers
Paul

a few quick snaps -

OK, staging or not, I'm not sure I would put over 87k worth of camera's on a flimsy shelf like that. It should be worshipped on an alter of gold or something. ; )

Thanks for the fantastic pics. Something to visualize now!

Cheers,
cd
