in my opinion, you still need to inform people who have invested or will invest in your products... if they are discontinuing the lenses or not
- what if you bought half a set thinking it was just a temporary "out of stock" for the rest?
kinda like Apple releasing fcpx and NOT making it compatible with FCP7 projects.... it turns into a trust thing.
Good to know. Pitty. They were really great bang for the buck, even in todays climate.
Just heavy. But beautyful...
Jarred, what effect does this have on support and service for all current owners of RPPs? What if a client drops one of my lenses and I need a front element replaced? Can you do it or can I have a local repair centre buy the parts from you? I know the service of RPPs is somewhat of an achilles heel for you guys.
you are right.. sorry. On the acquisition side, we currently are focusing on cameras.
When we started making lenses there wasn't many options out there, You could count companies making cinema lens on one hand. We came in and shook things up a bit with some great product. Now there are what seems to be 100s of companies offering everything from cheap to spectacular.. it is not a game you need us to be in right now.
We still have a few spectacular things brewing on the back burner that we wont talk about till they are ready, but for right now you guys shouldn't be holding your breath for a new set of RPPs anytime soon.
We have held plenty of inventory for repair and service, and of course you can have a repair shop fix them if you would like.
If you want them, you can still buy Sigma glass and mod them if you wish. You might even improve the image shift.
