If a card were to work with Red, it would need to advertise and deliver a sustained write speed of about 40 MB/s.

Based on the thread I thought it was too obvious to mention, but thanks for pointing it out. Tested speed in the right environment (i.e. inside the CF module on a RED One) is what we need to know, hence why I posted the question to see if anybody knew anything more about the STEC MACH4 CF card. I still think the fact that the manufacturer is LISTING speeds (55 write/ 90 read) which translates to about 600x read and 367x write is an ok start...

Oh, and I was looking at the 16GB SLC version. Don't have much hope for the MLC version...

Would prefer the RED 16GB card, of course. Just looking for backups.

There are still only three cards that pass the required sustained record speed test -

Lexar 300x 8GB, RED 8GB and RED 16GB.

Can somebody please confirm that these are the Lexar cards that work with the RED? http://www.lexar.com/digfilm/cf_udma.html

Yes, that's them Fredrik.

I have a handful of them and they work really well. But I am still a bit leery of them at times as I managed to buy a couple bad ones. Or rather a couple that went bad after a few hours of use. Anyway, I swapped those two bad cards (out of more than 12 total, in addition to some RED 8GB cards) and all is working fine for a couple months now.
