16 gig cards

Curious if Red will continue the policy of shipping by camera number for every new item like 16G cards or lenses, or whatever.

For accessories and post-camera orders, wouldn't make more sense, and be more fair, to simply ship based on a first order, first ship basis like any other company? Why be perpetually tied to your initial decision to buy a Red??

All backorders are filled based on camera ship date, not camera serial number. RED changed their policy right about the time they shipped camera #1000.

I think that's the most fair way to do it until they get caught up a bit more. Then at some point, the first-come, first-served model will have to apply to all accessory purchases. The big problem with first-come, first-serve right now is that in the case of 16GB cards, you have people ordering them who don't even have cameras yet and they may be in line ahead of you and me. And with 16GB CF cards, on your first order they have to send you a new CF module.
