  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

15mm on Scarlet

I hope to, but not sure how they'll hold up to the weight. Hmmm..

So, there's the Modular Assault Plate pack with 15mm rod supports... I am new to this system so I don't fully understand all of the plates etc, but this appears to be what you would need to put 15mm rods on the scarlet: http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/epic-mounting-plate-pack-modular-m

BUT.... top rods? No solution in the store yet. Looking forward to hearing more about this :)

Hey Trevor, just curious what sort of weight you are worried about? I've used 15mm rods for years on way bigger film and video rigs, never had any issues so unless I'm missing something, you should be ok. I plan on sticking with 15mm for all Epic and Scarlet AKS. Also waiting for some sort of 15mm top mount.

Unless you are already using 19mm bits, then I would think the smaller 15mm form-factor (and lower price) would be the obv choice. In my multi-manufacturer research for accessories I have found no problem using anything with the 15mm rod systems.

I have quite a bit 15mm rails already, I know they will be plenty strong for what im using it for. Just wanted to see if anyone has photo's or mounting parts that work?

15mm Studio offset works great with Epic/Scarlet. All you need is an ET baseplate, and then a riser from Wooden Camera (http://woodencamera.com/easy-riser-epic) or Viewfactor, etc.

Thanks for the Link!
