OOOH A TIMELAPSE!!!!!

Not like we haven't seen hundreds of thousands of those before. To me it seems that timelapses are one of those things that you setup and forget for a while, which is why I never shoot them.

Hmmm I don't see any smileys in that comment, but I do hope this was meant to be ironic. Otherwise I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and you need a check up with the optician . Or come back and show us you actually can do better. I doubt it.

Did someone piss in your Wheaties this morning, Mark? Lol.

It's interesting to note that because of his age, Nilo has had trouble with people in their 20 and 30s and 40s having a negative reaction to him. It's not his fault. It's not caused by anything he does. He's actually very humble. When his photos first came to the attention of the public, there were people accusing his Dad of taking all the photos and using Nilo as a front man! Hilarious. Even when he was with me, he took a great photo of lightning in the desert, which landed on the front page of Digg. Once some of the diggers found out about his age, negative comments starting appearing on the Digg comments. Lame. I told him just to ignore all the nonsense and keep your eyes on the prize.

Ouch, man. Are you serious? So you don't approve. But why go to the trouble then to view his work and then post something that is not only negative but down right nasty. Nilo has talent, ambition and passion and you have the nuts to criticize?

I am more impressed with this kid's timelapse work than your 2010 reel. Just sayin'...

What's even more funny is that he's put a reel together thats not even his work. If I could put dolly grip gaffer and operator shots on my reel it would be feature length! Btw great work Nilo!

I don't have a negative reaction to him doing work, and good work at all. He's 15 and working, which is good for him. That I'm impressed with.

I've just seen so many goddamn timelapses that they've all begun to look the same to me.

As for my 2010 reel, well, I'm not a cinematographer, and don't really have any ambition to be. There are people that I know that are far better than I am at it, and I would refer them over myself any day of the week. Usually I'm a grip/electric, which is fine for me because it's fun and interesting. I admittedly don't know camera that well, enough to shoot something and expose properly, but beyond that I prefer not to operate.

Way to go Nilo. Way to go Tom. And Nilo, you do have a great eye. Take everything people say to you with a grain of salt. Learn all you can from other great image makers past and present. And follow your heart.
