Hello. I am encountering an issue with my current 12G SDI cables and the DJI RS2 w/ Advanced Ring Grip setup.

Due to their rigidness whenever I connect the 12G cable to the SDI port at the back of the Komodo it pushes or pulls the gimbal one direction or another.

This could perhaps be solved with coiled SDI cables or larger thinner cables with more slack, however all the 12G cables I own are similarly thick and incapable of producing slack.

Does anyone know of any coiled or thin 12G SDI cables on the market? Thank you in advance.

I went through this exact issue a few months ago. After searching, I found this cable by Lentequip:

Make sure to choose the HD version.

Most importantly, it uses Canare L-2.5CHWS, which is specifically meant to carry 12g SDI, while being flexible. I've used it now on several shoots, including a wedding where I shot nearly 10 hours without issue.

I'd also grab a 90 degree sdi adapter for the camera-side connection, just to you can clear the roll axis motor on the RS2.

Edit: I'll add that they are located in Canada, which means your lead time might be impacted. It took about 2 weeks to get my cable in the US. I only wish I had bought a 6' version as well for use on the Tilta Float.

Markertek is a good source for that stuff - and if they don't have it ready made they will custom make whatever you need. My quick search showed they have the Laird ultra slim in 1, 3, and 6 feet using the Canare L-2.5CHWS Rixon mentioned.

I was just noticing this yesterday while doing a test. My thought is to try a coiled cable. I'll have to report back after i order one.
