  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

12fps uses (other than timelapse)

Is it really that useful for photography?
Please excuse my ignorance but is it a lot sharper?

I remember people talking how they used the photo mode on the Canons to shoot quickly photo's (often less than 12fps), and made a video out of that later, which often was pretty good useable for wide, very high detail shots with almost no movement. Though I personally have rather a 4K 24p shot instead of 5k 12p, even for that use.
Maybe you can twixtor it to 24p. Or just have that cool 'staccato' effect.

Yup There’s a ton of very useful VFX stuff you can do at full frame, but not saying…

127 Hours, Wong Kar Wai. Enough said.

music videos
some parts of Slumdog Millionare were shot on 12 fps (chase in slums I think)

5k = approximately 14 megapixels which is a respectable size for stills. 4k is somewhere closer to 9mp. I personally think it is AMAZING that RED chose to have the 5k 12fps option! It means the camera will be equally as good as EPIC for stills... after all it is a DSMC ;)
