Thanks Donatello. Great to hear from you! This information clarifies a lot. I would think that Red might transfer a new warranty to a new owner if the camera is unused.

Looks like you're on the cusp of getting your RED?? Let me know when you're in town. and come by the new studio. We have 50 new processors/50gb ram in the render farm and 9 quad core compositing stations at work on multiple film and commercial VFX projects.

There have been a few of threads on the topic of warranty coverage, so I recommend you search for those to find out the implications of purchasing a RED ONE not directly from RED.

As Jarred said, that is an incorrect assumption. How would a buyer (or RED, for that that matter) know if the camera was "unused" by the original buyer?

If you buy a camera from some entity OTHER than directly from RED, you can send in the camera for an evaluation (see: RED Re-Certified Warranty in the RED Terms & Conditions). For a fee, we will evaluate the camera. We will provide a quote to bring camera back to current RED specs. If customer approves quote (ie, pays for parts and labor), RED will perform repairs, as needed. Then, RED - at its discretion - can offer the RED Re-Certified Warranty.

So, yes, we offer a non-original purchaser warranty coverage. But it is NOT the original purchaser warranty.

I could go on, but I'd be repeating what has already been said in other threads.

I'm a moderator, but I don't work for RED. So I know what you know. We have seen changes to the accessories since they were first announced, packages have changed. The top handle has gone through a few iterations, I think other things like the grip handles may be revised in the near future, what about that T-Handle we saw in a teaser pic a few months back?

SATA FLASH module... Where is it? What form will it take? CF and ExpressCard are far more user friendly and becoming more widely available at higher capacities and speeds, will RED actually release that 1.8" SATA module?

T handle is not a SKU just a concept, but if you look at the store at red.com you will see what made it through development.
