Apologies if this has already been discussed.

What is the best post workflow when working with 120fps? My final delivery is web but I am still finding it too low quality to really do anything with.

Thanks for any help!

Pete

Are you talking Scarlet 1K 120FPS?

I shot a project a couple opt months ago that is for smartphone delivery only and we shot Scarlet 1K WS for the tests thinking we'd use Epic or something else high speed for the actual project - and then shot the whole project with Scarlet because it looked fine in the intended delivery method.

Thread here: Thread: A case for 1KWS 120fps…

Another of the test videos (I can't yet show the final shoot videos - I don't own them)
This video is pretty heavily compressed from the original file

As for post workflow… don't laugh, but. These test videos were done in FCPX because we were in a time crunch to show something to the client. Advertising is a need it yesterday, but were not going to release it for another 6 months type of business. These were edited in native R3D in the FCPX timeline, However FCPX doesn't recognise the aspect ration so it puts black bars top & bottom. Then output as a master file and brought back to correct size in compressor while compressing to a file size that will work with the cell phone delivery method. All done on set so we could show them the possibilities of the workflow.
-Slight curve added in RCX Pro
-Slight sharpening added in FCPX
-Speed ramping done in FCPX

1KWS @120fps works fine -IF- you don't try to blow it up to full screen after compressing the file for web delivery. However these videos look great at full resolution on a 36" screen at proper viewing distance
