SCARLET CREDIT: (NEW R1 ELIGIBILITY ENDED)

If you do not execute your trade-in option in Stages 1-3.5, you are still eligible to keep your RED ONE and and receive a one-time credit of 12% on a Single SCARLET FULL SYSTEM.
Cameras only eligible if invoiced by RED or having completed the official RED ownership transfer process ON OR BEFORE May 22, 2010.
Once this credit is selected, the corresponding RED ONE will be marked at executed. "Executed" means not eligible for any other trade-in offers/credits.
Cameras with voided warranties are not eligible for ANY trade-in offers/credits.

No, with the move to the new kind of Scarlet, R1 owners either had the option of Stage 3/3.5 or nothing...so I'd have assumed everyone would've jumped for Stage 3 (unless there was a stage after 3.5 for R1 owners too?)

That was pre-new scarlet...when we were still thinking of Fixed and the other 2-3 flavors

Considering new Scarlet is say... 9,970, package being 15K...

The trade in on the R1 for 12% always seemed like a rather odd move for owners to do when you trade in your R1 at Stage 3 for EPIC at 10K plus accessories...add say 4 128GBs (unless you made the switch whilst you had your R1) and your coming towards the 20K mark on your EPIC system being full fitted in some respects, especially with a few accessories out there allowing you to use your old r1 parts
