Hi, everyone!

I'm looking for a wide angle lens for my Scarlet-MX and choosing between Rokinon(Samyang) 10mm and Rokinon 14mm, (already have the Sigma Art 18-35).
What focal length would you choose? Is 14mm enough wide on Scarlet-MX, considering it's crop factor? Is 10mm FOV on Scarlet-MX at 4K, like 14mm FOV on Epic-MX at 5K for example?
Would 10mm focal length on Scarlet-MX look adequate and not too ''fish-eye''?

Thank you!

Alex

The safe bet is the 14mm. 10mm is super wide, even on Scarlet MX at 4K. Just off the top of my head, the 10mm FOV on Scarlet MX at 4K would be more like a 12.5mm FOV on Epic MX at 5K...pretty damn wide. The 14mm will most likely be a more versatile lens for you. All that said, I love my Kinoptik 9.8mm :) Have you thought of the Toking 11-16? Best of both worlds at a reasonable price and a decent stop (f/2.8). Good luck!

Tokina 11-16 a good idea!

I would pick this one: Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM when I had the budget.

There's a newer Tokina 11-20 that's supposed to be even better but I haven't used it yet.

I love the look of the Sigma 14mm on 6K Dragon wide open @ /f1.8. It has a very 'large format' look to me.

But certainly the Tokina 11-20 is a lot more versatile. But having the wide aperture on the Sigma has made me be a much more happy camper when I do reach for it :)
