  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1080p monitoring . which card?

I'm not 100% sure about the specs of the Decklink card. However, the Panny monitor, and most HDTVs in general, do not accept 1080p over component. You will need to input to the monitor via DVI / HDMI to get 1080p.

I just hooked up a Decklink Studio card on a Mac Pro to a Panasonic TC-P42U1 42" plasma with component video, and I can't get true 1080p to display on the monitor.

Whenever I select one of the Blackmagic outputs in FCP, nothing appears on the TV. I can only get a picture on the TV if I select one of the "23.98 --> 29.97" Blackmagic outputs.

I don't want interlaced, I want progressive! What am I doing wrong? Did I get the wrong card for true 1080p over component? Is the Decklink Studio card only able to output true 1080p if you use the HD-SDI outs? I want to hook up with either component cable or HDMI cable, please advise what card to use, or how to use this one correctly, thanks!
Hey Zak.
Have you looked at the specs? Here is what I see:
HD Format Support 1080PsF23.98/24, 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 720p50 and 720p59.94.
No 1080P24, only PsF, but I'm not sure about your monitor displaying it. Yes, "23.98 --> 29.97" will give you the 1080i59.94.
Don't feel bad, it happened to me too last year...
