  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1080p 24Hz HDMI doesn't seem to be working with 3.2.16 - what am I missing?

I'm using 3.2.16 and attempting to output 1080p 24 Hz thru HDMI.

I bought a Samsung T24B350ND yesterday, state-of-the-art, only shipping for a few months.

Their level 2 tech support says that it will support 1080p 60 and anything below, including 24 Hz.

It does play 1080p 60Hz and 30Hz from the camera - and of course BluRay's at 1080 24p.

I must be clueless - isn't a BluRay player outputting 1080p 24 Hz?

How can the camera be outputting 1080p 24 Hz correctly, if a 2012 monitor that can read 1080p60 and BluRays, is unable to read it?

My 2 year old Samsung also refuses to play 1080p 24 Hz (but will play 1080p 60 Hz)- so I don't think the monitor is defective.

What am I missing here?

I reported this to RED with 3.2.13, and again with 3.2.16.

I got a response back today for 3.2.16 saying that '

SCARLET does not output 1080p 24 Hz thru HDMI at this point. Our engineers are aware go this and are working on getting this issue resolved in a future firmware release.

So, for anyone needing 24 Hz (and confused as I was) ... it sounds like it's in motion.

The release notes for the Scarlet were very specific.

Added HDMI 1080p/720p refresh rates of 24,25,30,50,60

I might humbly suggest that new features in release notes get tested on both Epics and Scarlets?

But, hey - 3.2.16 sure did bring a lot of great new features - and who's perfect?

This is a confirmed bug in 3.2.x up to 3.2.16 that affects both EPIC and Scarlet. The next 3.2 release, which should be released shortly, will have a fix for it.
