  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have finished grading a movie (24fps) on the Scratch, rendered a DNxHD 175 of the final edit.

In Avid Nitris I have synced the final sound and done a digital cut to HDCAM at 24.

I need to make a Digital cut to HDCAM at 25.

I could not figure out how to make Avid play it at 25, speeding up both video and audio, in a way that the deck will recognize as 25psf and with no reference issues.

Any advice from more experienced Avid users?

Thanks.

You write "Avid Nitris".
Since the Avid Marketing Dept. is nuts, could you please clarify if it's an Avid DS Nitris, Avid Symphony Nitris DX or an Avid Media Composer Nitris DX.
Because if it's an Avid Symphony Nitris DX then it has a feature called Universal Mastering which is exactly what you need in this case.

Frame for frame universal mastering only works in SD. v5 and v5.5 introduced mix & match which allows for frame rate conversion, but it is not a frame for frame conversion; it always preserves the original duration of the program.
