  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

10-Pin Camera Return

Provides dual XLR feed and a 1.8mm headphone jack is the norm, it makes your life easier as when camera moves you can just unplug one cable and it leaves the XLR/TA3/Headphone cables still plugged in and when your ready to re-patch its just one 10 pin cable.

It is my understanding the the RedOne does not have a camera Return port on it thought. That being said, what would have to happen is at the camera end the single cable would have to fan out to the individual connectors.

But the ease of only having one cable to camera would be invaluable and the investment would be worth it in my opinion.

You use it with a break away cable.

The camera side of a breakaway cable has the detachable fanout (2 XLRm/TA3m, 1 2.5mmTRS Headphone Return). The XLRs/TA3s plug into the audio inputs, and the 2.5mmTRS plugs into the headphone jack on camera (Because the return takes up the camera's headphone jack, the cable also has a female TRS pigtail which the camera op can plug into if he needs to hear.)

Like Andrew said, the fanout is has one detachable "breakaway" connector making camera moves easier.

The mixer side of the breakaway depends on the model of mixer being used. Some have one 10-pin Hirose connector, some are just a mirror of the camera side (XLRf instead of XLRm).
