Shot over the past 10 months with Dragon, Epic and a GoPro while constantly putting the REDs in harms way and breaking every cinematography rule I've ever read - especially those that apply to RED's black shading, motion blur / shutter angle, sensor temps and shooting in those weird fps half and third steps). Project FPS was always 29.97 (for broadcast in 60i) , but over crank and resolution varied from shot to shot, literally, with no black shade in-between, ever. Only at start-up and only sometimes. Just doing everything as fast as possible to try and get the shot with only ever getting one chance to do so.
I respect this community so much and any feedback, advice and criticisms would be sincerely appreciated. I just want to keep improving. Also, would like to know where following some of the rules would have helped the footage.
Also, to those who are intimidated perhaps with too much of the nitty gritty techy RED processes and specs we all get lost in. This is proof, to me at least, that a RED is a camera that can thrive without much more thought than any other camera. The image speaks for itself even if, like me, the operator has yet to push it to it's full potential.
Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts.
Merry Christmas!
