10 good reasons for going Stage 3

  1. There is no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  2. There is absolutely no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  3. There is positively no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  4. There is absolutely, positively no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  5. There is really no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  6. There is really absolutely no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  7. There is really, positively no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  8. There is really absolutely, positively no way for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
  9. The fewer stages 2, the earlier we get our camera
  10. There is no way in heaven or hell for you to get $5.000 by the end of the month
10 good reasons for going Stage 2

  1. You get your camera earlier
  2. You get a bigger LCD - which is great for judging focus, and likely to be beneficial when using the touch screen
  3. You'll get your camera at a time before the market is saturated, increasing the ROI. Also, you'll get to educate your clients about the benefits of EPIC before the SCARLET wave hits.
  4. You'll have a good chance of selling your camera for above $9.000 - making Stage 2 cheaper than Stage 3
  5. You'll can still use the gear that works only with the RED One - or you can sell it with your camera as a package. (Once Stage 3 hits, I predict a flood of cheap Base production packs, Batteries, CF cards, LCDs, EVFs, hard disks, handles, etc.)
  6. If you have a high serial number/late delivery of your R1, you might get the Epic before the M-X upgrade is offered
  7. You'll be part of the exciting roll-out of this amazing camera
  8. You'll get the resolution of about 4 Alexas for the price of about 1/3 Alexa. Talking about bang for the buck.
  9. Some offers really are too good to be refused. There still are no free lunches, but with RED you get a space trip for the price of a transatlantic flight.
  10. Life is too short to wait. No guts, no glory.

I am not selling, no way! I want it all! MUHWAHAHAHAHAHAH!

LOL. :)

Those are the only 10 reasons I can think of not to jump on board. Has the deadline been extended through the end of the month now?

Now that Red have an idea of the numbers choosing to go for Stage 2, it seems it would be a good idea to consider extending the Stage 2 offer up until the Stage 3 offer is ready to roll.

Any additional sign ups, during this period, for stage 2, would mean:-

for RED - less R1's back to Red
for R1 Owners - more time to join stage 2.

A win win situation?

Stage 2 sign-up window was extended through today, the 5th. The deadline for the $5K deposit always was and still is June 1st.

I don't really see a significant downside to this unless RED needs to get real numbers in advance for Stage2 to more accurately order the manufacture of accessories, mainly 5" LCD's.

Of course the downside for R1 owners opting for Stage 3 is potentially a longer and less predictable time frame for delivery.

Edit: Perhaps a Stage2-Phase2 where buyers who missed the May 5 deadline could still get in on Stage2?

And to be fair to the Phase1 buyers the Phase2 cameras would be delivered after the Stage2-Phase1 cameras, and based on time stamp of their order, not the original delivery date.

AND a Stage2-Phase3 that could be offered as an option at the same time as Stage3? All these cameras would then be delivered based on original delivery date.

I probably have too much time on my hands these days. :001_unsure:
Just a thought.

If it were only that simple and easy.

Come on Robert, don't give that sad face, Stage 3 remains an incredible deal and opportunity to free your self of a camera you used for over two years, (well actually not you, since I know your R1 is practically NEW) but getting full value for it while exchanging it for a brand new Epic-X is not a bad deal at all! ;~)

Your absolutely right Ketch! I have to remember to keep it real and realistic.

I'll spare the gory details, but after an incredibly difficult time for over year, with many challenges and misfortune, I'm ready to be fully immersed in using my RED.

I guess it's the little kid part of me that can't wait for Epic. It's really the camera that does everything I want and need. :sifone:

And to be realistic... there really is no downside for me, either way the Epic-X will rock!

I created a thread to discuss ideas relevant to Stage2 options.
