  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1 FPS , Did some body try it.

Wow! That looks great! Are you tempted to digitally remove the seagulls?

jimhare-
My photographer/perfectionist side is definitely bothered by the seagulls. But, the amount of work, plus it makes is "real"... Or something like that...

We are going to try some other timelapse shots with the RED soon. We have been using Nikon D2x for all our timelapse shots for a few years now, so its fun to compare.

The stars aligned for you there man... nice work.

Stamphil,
I sped it up quite a bit. I don't remember the exact %, I can post the original clip if you, or anyone else is interested.

The shot will really blow your socks off if you see it in its original 4k resolution. We were shooting the same shot with our HVX200 in timelapse mode right next to the RED... There is simply no comparison. Granted they shouldn't be compared as they are two completely different cameras. But, my goodness, the RED had almost zero noise and the color that came out of the image once in REDCine was amazing.

- This is not politically correct - but you should of had a pellet gun to get rid of those darn birds that kept getting in your shot! - OK THAT WAS A JOKE! -

I have this same trouble with seagulls when I shoot at the beach. I usually paint them out frame by frame in photoshop. :waaa:

Stamphil,
We shot this near Davenport Ca. Which is north of Santa Cruz CA, our home base. We've shot sunsets up there for years, it never ceases to amaze us!

Tom... you're absolutely crazy. Or, just really bored. I don't want to even think about how many frames are in this shot!

1 fps works great

I don't have anything to post, but I shot a CF card til it was full and it looks great, just outside my window at my apartment. no problems. when do we get one frame every minute or something?

Wow, that looks fantastic - clouds look cool at 1fps but water/waves just need a longer exposure time (here's hoping that option comes with Build 16?)

Lol, it's dedication my friend! Plus I am just super OCD about birds and airplanes flying through my shots.

Nice :) ive done many attempts since old school film days to make sunsets and sunrises but following the Fstops as the light changes was the hard part.. did you change the Fstops or just let it roll?
