    Flipping the sensor 180⁰

I don't believe you can do it in camera any more, so you'll probably need to do it in post (and rely on a monitor flip function to monitor on set). Per Red, it's only avail on the Epic Dragon or Scarlet Dragon...

    FS: PortaBrace Large Wheeled Case

Rolling case designed to carry a lighting kit or small grip package. Great for working in and out of cars. Large wheels and extendable handle for moving it easily on streets or in a studio. Mine has only been out of the house approximately 5 times-- I mostly just used it for storage in my...

    Unavailable

I've shot with a Canon 8-64 on both Super 16mm film and the original m43-sensor Blackmagic camera, and it's a great lens. It's an extremely useful focal range, and it produces a sharp image with a nice amount of character. Not an exact match for the s16mm Super Speeds, but cuts well.

    Want to buy Ranger [8K]

You can’t get a better recommendation than one from Christopher Probst! However, I’d also just recommend you rent the bodies, if possible, before purchasing.

SOLD: two Canon BP-975 batteries, virtually unused

I bought two Canon BP-975 batteries for use with my Komodo, but wound up using v-mount exclusively. These have seen perhaps 3 charge cycles, just for testing. They're currently on sale for $150 each (down from $200) on B&H, so I'll ask net $100 each.

    "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" - Sony Venice 2 + FX3 - Why Not A1/Z8/V-Raptor?

I don’t know what went into the decision, but they very likely tested before making the choice. Could be as simple as preferring to unify on a brand (with the assumption that color science is related). And I’d guess the FX3 is easy to rent and familiar to the camera dept that has to support it...

The mic is sold, thank you!

Could anyone tell me if red is working on a 65mm camera (and while we're at it what I would want in it)?

An interesting reference point might be the “Big Sky” camera built to capture imagery for the Sphere venue in Las Vegas. Per the ASC magazine piece on it, it’s a 77.5mm x 75.6mm sensor that captures in 18k (and up to 120, though I don’t know if that’s full resolution or otherwise limited.)...

Could anyone tell me if red is working on a 65mm camera (and while we're at it what I would want in it)?

I have no idea if Red is considering this and would never call such a desire ridiculous. But what would you want a hand-holdable 65mm camera for?

Would you buy a Monstro now?

These are essentially the same size (though the aspect ratio of vistavision historically is a little different). So yes, lenses designed for full frame should cover.

SOLD: Sennheiser MKH 416 P48 shotgun mic

Excellent condition Sennheiser 416 shotgun mic. I love the sound, but have used this only rarely. (I don't typically have an on-camera mic and usually have a sound mixer with their own kit in any situation where this mic would play.) Comes with rigid plastic case and windscreen (which is itself...

    PROXY RECORDING ON CAMERA

No, you cannot record simultaneous proxies on the Komodo.

New KX User from Canon Ecosystem

Welcome! You have a lot of questions, I'll try a couple answers... 1) Are my assortment of RF lenses useless on the camera?-- No! Not if you like the look and how they perform. I suspect a lot of users are just invested in other glass. 2) I am in the process of getting some custom cinema...

New Movie Studio/Rental Shop - What lenses for 2025?

There are indeed an incredible number of lens options available just at the moment—have we reached “peak lens”? I enjoy the bounty, but wonder how sustainable it is for small rental houses to continue to buy $50-100k sets of rehoused stills lenses—outside of some specialists, where does the...
