Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Hi all...
I must be doing something wrong here... but how do you fix the hinge on the cradle ROCK SOLID?
I've tightened the screws on the side, and it flops around even with nothing on the cradle (no weight) If I mount a Dionic 160 battery, the cradle just flops backwards completely. I'm worried...
I know it's been discussed at various times before, but now that lots of cameras are shipping and people have been using them for some time in the field, is there a consensus about which is the best kit or system (I'm assuming it's likely something made for the DSLR market)
Is there a...
Hi everyone...
I've thrown another 2 hard cases up on eBay:
This one was for my 300mm Zeiss:

This was for my Cooke 20-100...
OK, here's a workflow conundrum for multi-camera shows.
Since all cameras are like snowflakes (no two are alike) and there is no live "paintbox" grading with Red One (RAW-style capture)...
First off, it might be useful to have a software Macbeth and 11-step grey scale and Stouffer scale built in...
Hey everyone...
I have a case that used to hold my O'Connor 25-75 head, made by Innerspace. It came with the head, and I finally just bought an A&J case for the head that matches my other cases. Strictly a vanity thing... so I've put the old one up on eBay...
OK, I finally bought a couple of Intel Macs and tried out Redcine for the first time yesterday. I know it's a beta, but it's pretty full-featured and seems mostly intuitive, though a departure from the traditional OSX apps like Final Cut, DVD Studio Pro, etc.
Not being a post guy, I assume that...
Hey...
I just wrapped a series of spots for the Tourism Board of New Jersey, operating and shooting second unit. We used a couple of 435s and a 235. I shot a couple of nice time lapse shots.
One cool accessory that I hadn't had a chance to use before this job was Arri's hand crank attachment. It...
Can anyone at the Red Team pass along the size, in millimeters, of the portion of the chip that records in 4K Redcode with the onboard recording solutions? I know the sensor size is 24.4mmx13.7mm.
I'm having a custom ground glass made for my ARRI Media Finder and would like to show the full...
Has anyone done a test with different kinds of diffusion filters? I feel like TIFFs that people have posted show that 4K's worth of resolution is not always kind to an actor's complexion.
I know that we can do it in post, but sometimes as a DP you want to lock in some of your look in camera...
Anyone think it's a good idea to travel to Red headquarters to personally pick up your camera when it's time, or at least to speak with some of the Red Team to get to know the camera? (like a quick tutorial)
For example, without seeing all the bracketry in person, it's hard to get an idea about...
Just wondering, as the prototypes start coming together, has the Red team put Natasha or Boris through some serious shaking?
I have spent the last two weeks on a large Hollywood movie's stunt unit doing absolutely horrific car crashes in New York City. We had 4 Eyemo cameras in Clairmont crash...
Here's a silly question:
Since the Red One camera and the software are a departure from both traditional film and HD cameras, will there be a user guide (hopefully not written by the fellow in Japan who writes for Sony and Panasonic)?
How about a quick in-person tutorial for those who can manage...
