Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Tonaci Tran made a very informative interview with Ted. Find the thread here: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=52026

Here's my youngest daughter operating the R1 for a little weekend animation project, at that time she was 4 years.
Her older sister also got to operate for her little piece.
Here's Eva's (4) result: http://vimeo.com/5138748
And Liv (then 7): first try: http://vimeo.com/5138741

If you need a new license for Toast 10, hop over to http://www.mupromo.com/toastbundle/ where they sell a bundle including Toast 10 for under 50 bucks. There are a couple of other mildly useful tools (for me mostly a screen recording app and a nice looking thought organizer) included.
(And no...
Found a nifty tool called Fluid that lets you turn websites into apps. Here are my three offerings for your OSX dock browsing pleasure:

Sometimes I am really appalled by how (thankfully a few) posters seem to lose all sense of decency when posting:
A poster suggests that a very respected DP is taking money so that he would use a specific camera.
A poster re-labels the RED showreel to make it look like his own work.
Someone...

SOLD Birger Mount, serial 05275, dumb, for sale. Lets you use Canon lenses, and with an adapter, a wide range of other lenses, such as Nikon, Contax and Pentax. The mount has all the electronics inside, but I never tested them, so I am selling this as a dumb mount. A very...
While we are waiting for news, I'd like to discuss the cheapest option to have a workable Epic-X. For this exercise I take it that it will be a Stage 2 or 3 Epic. For the sake of the argument I put the price at 10.500 - not at all implying that this is the camera's value. I only want to find out...
One of the greatest contributors to Reduser (and cinematography in general) is having his birthday today. Best wishes, David, many happy returns, and thank you for your never-ending willingness to share.
And may your amazing patience be a continuing fountain of youth.
A Czech user over at Vimeo has just posted a video taken on the iPhone 4 in 720p.
http://vimeo.com/12671233
As expected there is compression and blown highlights, but really. This is HD (well, 720p) shot on a freakin' little mobile phone.
It is not gonna replace an R1 or Scarlet or 5D or...
I had this happen occasionally in the past, when I shot timelapses, that on play-back I would get about a 1.5x zoom effect.
Today, I was shooting normally on 25fps, 16:9, RC 28, Build 30 and each and every playback would be zoomed in.
Anyone else has experienced this?

Here is an overview over used RED cameras that are currently on sale. Let's keep this list current — all cameras listed are currently for sale (AFAIK).
These are private sales, so please use the proper precautions when buying high-value items. Have a peek at the marketplace policy. Most...
I would like to start a thread where people can post inspiring music videos. Music videos is a very interesting genre, because they offer great creative freedom packed in a limited amount of time, and have a wide range of budgets.
Pop promos offer a great way of getting inspiration whenever you...

Anyone knows what this is? First I thought it was just like a cheese-stick, but why is it shiny inside the holes?
Any ideas?
