Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
IMHO the numerical infos are not very convenient while shooting handheld. You need to concentrate on the frame. It's probably ok if youhave to place the camera in an awkward position.
The Horizon and Tilt monitor in the new Komodo-X Firmware 1.3.5 is still soooo useless.
Why don't you copy the DSMC2 overlay model? Or like the RED control app?
On this one you have have to tilt 90c to see it move... It's not the purpose to have such a huge scale. Slightly off horizon is what...
I was wondering if it could find : wind in the tree, sea gull, city hum, waves braking, dog barking, children playing, football match... such type of sounds?
Here my tests. Start @ 19sec.
If you use a regular olpf and cut light you would have to cut a lot of light (probably beeing at 25600 iso in sunlight) to get a bit of effect.
I still have my Monstro (to sell) and the IR OLPF ;-)

Well... I suppose that packing more pixels would also be a difficult task on a such a huge sensor using Arri's tech. Dalsa killed Aaton Penelope development (and Aaton(?)) because they didn't manage to make the sensor at specifications. 8K Dragons where also soo expensive to make because of...
Well first sexy digital camera from ARRI. 6.5k is still low res for this huge sensor but gets you a real good 4k picture.
The size is really sexy! Wondering about the rolling shutter on this large sensor (but they aren't so many pixels to read).
Well done Arri.

PS: RED would usually...
I compared them side by side and also when I wanted to buy a mic I tried both. The minicmit is apparently a bit more directive as it has less high on the back than on the front of the mic, but this gives the mic some coloration. You got a dip in the mid and high not on the low Hz.
MiniCmit...

IMHO, the pianissimo is too big for an onboard solution. I would go with the Cosi-L and a minicmit if you could do it in mono.
It's true that the Leo handles fairly well the wind but won't manage highspeed winds.
The DPA 2017 (or Sennheiser 8050) wich is not too expensive is also a good solution.
I used the minicmit on this setup because the sound guy needed my MS CCM41 CCM8 config on his boom ;-) (it’s all my sound equipment that I also rent)
I also mount the M2D2 with a cold shoe to rod adapter SmallRig 15mm Rod Clamp mit Cold Shoe - 1597 and the 3D printed bracket that you can...
Hello,
For the MS setup I use a CCM41 and a CCM8 from Schoeps in a Cinela Leo windshield. It's IMHO the best mic combination for the MS situation. The CCM41 is as focused as the Minicmit without the tonal descrepacies of out of axis sounds, hence some call more directivity...
