Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
I've been watching many Game of Thrones clips on YouTube and was impressed by how the haze in the light beams is just perfect, especially without bleeding into the rest of the room. Is there a trick to getting just the right amount of haze. I usually end up too cloudy or too sparse. Any tricks...
Has anyone tried using a glidecam for quick stabilized shots with their RED rig? It would seem like it would work for 5-10 minutes, then your forearms would get too shaky. Does anyone use a glidecam frequently?
I see Devin Supertramp uses a glidecam with his RED, but I also notice he uses...
I am looking into getting a Lectrosonics LT/LR kit. I'm not quite sure how to read the spreadsheet on their website city-by-city. In Chicago it looks like there are only 5 possible ranges, all of which are in the B1 range, except 1 in the A1. It looks like the old Block 22 would be the best...
The crop factor is a mystery. It seems like the sensor is going to be just a smidge larger than the previous camera so the websites say "a reduced crop factor for a wider field of view." The original BMPCC is considered "slightly wide" meaning most zooms are 35 to 49mm wide which isn't great...
I bought this from Schumacher Camera when they went out of business. It is a beautiful lens. (I have decided to go with the Tamron 150-600 with an EF mount so I can switch between my RED and Canon 5D because it is easier and lighter for travel to Africa.)
Selling for $3,000, NOW $2000.
When I first bought Anton Bauer batteries about 6-years ago, v-mount and gold-mount seemed about equal in usage, but now I see almost everything offered as v-mount. Has this become the more popular standard now?
I was quite inspired by the RED Collective by the Russell and Shannon Wild. I am thinking of doing some wildlife cinematography for fun. I have a Canon 400mm 2.8 with PL mount, but it is quite heavy. I am thinking of buying the Tamron 150-600mm with EF mount (like Shannon uses). It just seems so...
I let a young DP and film student (1st AC) shoot a short on my RED Epic Dragon. When they turned it on, they were puzzled at the darkness of the image on the monitor. They thought there was something wrong and asked me if there was some sort of filter on it.
Is this a common reaction to people...
The back room had walls painted green. A tungsten light was used with CTB. A hazer was used. The scene looked green to the human eye and green on the RED Epic Dragon, but a Nikon DSLR had the monitors come out blue. Anyone have any idea what causes the different looks?
