Hey Liebster,
Glad to be among those helping.
A bit of variables in this.
It might be best to show the image or link to an R3D of the shot.
some questions for clarification.
Was this a high or lower contrast frame?
Describe what the histogram looked like?
Were your exposure tools like the...

For the sake and craft of cinematography the most thorough and reliable means of anyone understanding the best ISO settings for their camera(s) of choice is to test.
800-1200 was normally fine for me with the RED One MX and I remember rating the original RED One anywhere from 250-400.
If...
I know you've been testing the BMD 12K out so I would be curious about your findings.
The RGBW sensor tech is clearly different from the normal Bayer pattern based sensors and the pixel
layout shows a less dense field of color pixels than bayer sensors.
I also suspect there's some things going...
I have to say Fgonz you're admirably persistent with this question.
To quote from the film Do the right thing (1989):
"Those that tell don't know and those that know won't tell."
Da Mayor (as performed by Ossie Davis)
IIRC, RED average something like 2 cameras a year so I imagine things are...
Another person reported the same issue on this reddit thread.
That's me responding to them toward the end but this might be a potentially widespread issue.

Interesting.
Is this the same setup as detailed in this post?
I've had solid performance with USB-C with my Komodo OG and Komodo link so I'm surprised (and a bit frustrated) the KX is having this issue.
I like a simplistic setup and the USB-C is great but I need reliability.
Brian Timmons...
Thanks for the update John.
Glad you got a replacement though concerning you had such a hassle.
I still experience this intermittent issue with my KX and an contemplating sending it in.
I dislike having cameras pulled out of service for these type of issues but I do depend on
the KX/RED...
Hey John,
I'm curious if you are still experiencing this issue and if removing and reattaching the lens is still your workaround.

I just tried booting my RED One with a Moman 99wh mini v-mount battery I usually use for Komodo and KX and it booted fine.
I did not perform a long test but I imagine if it booted up with the 5" RED monitor it should be ok.
Keep in mind that the power draw on a RED One MX is something like...
Perhaps we might start using the forums and social media to organize large scale group buys.
Essentially a virtual buyers club to take the sting off of some of these jack up prices.

That’s great to hear about the Mac version.
Yes, look forward to having the RED undead gui in the toolkit.
A .RMD sync tool did exist years ago but it and the developer have not been heard from.
There definitely is a void for such a tool and it is very helpful for keeping multiple backups and...
hey Leo,
It looks like a great tool and thanks for taking the time to create it.
My only suggestion is to please consider making a Mac version.
PS- Have you ever thought of making a tool that batch syncs .RMD files between different copies of the same clip(s)?

While a great aspect of this is political, I'm posting this thread not as a political
discussion but with the intent to discuss the effect this will have on our craft, livelihoods, and
the world as we know it and what can be done to make it through.
I wonder if some of these recent price cuts...
Hey Terry,
Not sure of the issue and will report of I find something but welcome back.
Haven't read posts from you in a good while.
