Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Anyone done it? On a really bright day, with limited lighting, while the wheel is in motion, what's going to be my best method to balance my lighting??
It's a bit of a logistical nightmare this one!
TIA, Simon

If you did buy it back, you made a tidy profit on the deal ;)
I was outside the Apple Store in London thismorning streaming a live video feed from my 8GB 3G using the USTREAM app. We put this though a scan converter back at HQ and had it on air many times thoughout the morning.
Is this a first?? Doubt it, but know that you guys have your fingers on the...
Looks like the Red One was used for a feature about kids adiccted to gaming and the front cover looks to be a still from the footage.
Can't find a link to the story or piccys, soz. A guy called Robbie Cooper was the 'Tog'.

All workflows need storage whether PC or MAC or Linux. They're mostly similar apart from formatting of the drives etc. I feel i may be missing out on good info or ideas. It would be great to have a dedicated part of the forum for HDD's, SSD's, RAIDS, NAS, SAN etc.......u get the idea :)

I need to get a new system in the next couple of weeks due to my current sytems dying!!! Waiting is not an option.
So, having seen DaveTechTables Video, Premiere is the way to go for me. So i was thinking, what system spec was Dave using for the demo in that video???
I'm guessing i7 processor...
Was out on friday night in Soho for a few beers and an old contact mentioned that the new sony camera, the 9000 i think, is coming out in the near future. Expect a press release towards the end of the week i'm being told.
Apparently it's 4K, with the possibility of being 8K too with an upgrade...
Exclusive news story on the Bloomberg Terminal today. No link i'm afriad as it's on the closed BBG network.

Sounds a bit familar ;-)

This is why i was in favour of Blu-Ray over HD-DVD. The storage possibilites are very good. For backing up, this make a good solution, if you don't mind taking risks that is ;-)
The question now has to be asked, why compress footage...
I realise that RED are primarily a Cinema company, but there is still overlap. Lot's of people want to use a RED ONE and Scarlet for 1080p TV, but without a CCU for the RED ONE, this makes things tricky for studio use.
Is there any chance???:help:

Would it be possible to have a Red Ray with a flash/ssd card reader built in. Then i could take my 8gb card out of the scarlet, power up the RedRay (no PC/Mac required) plug the card into the RedRay, pop in a DL DVD-R and then press a magic button and hey presto, the RedRay will copy everything...
