Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
In practical terms for someone primarily cutting in Premiere CC, some light After Effects work, and Resolve, shooting on Dragon, how much will I lose by going with a tri-980 build vs tri-Titan Xs? For company/vendor reasons, let's just assume those are the only two choices here. In a set budget...

Pre-ordered today. I'm pretty excited about this lens. Covers full frame, relatively fast, good usable focal range, and image stabilization. I have a feeling this one...
Like-New: BMD HyperDeck Shuttle 2 External Recorder with included Mount Plate ($95). Records in ProRes, DNxHD, and uncompressed formats. Accepts both HD-SDI and HDMI inputs and has outputs for each as well, great for using as a passthrough/converter to a client monitor.

This is the original version, very lightly used and comes with original packaging. I believe this lens was ~$650-700 when I purchased it. Asking $400.
(Selling to make room for the upcoming Tamron 15-30).
Notice the Flowcine gear shown off as well! http://www.alex-buono.com/how-we-did-it-snl-titles-sequence/
Pretty cool and informative article aside from the Dragon stuff, too.

Hey folks,
Getting prepped to shoot a sequel video in a couple of weeks and just looking for suggestions. For reference, the original video (shot by a good friend of mine) is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPkkoSfrWV8
It was made several years back with just a 7D and the available...
Hey folks!
Just a shot in the dark here, but has anyone had success getting their camera to spit out a 60p feed (either from HDMI or HDSDI)? I have tried getting my Shuttle to recognize the stream as 60p but so far HDMI is a no-go and SDI just seems to give me at best a 59.94 (interlaced?)...
Anybody come across anything like this before?
These files show up this way off of the original SSD (happened on 2 different SSDs) so I'm kinda at a loss here as to what's causing it. They show up fine in RCX and Premiere, but maybe there's some small corruption those 2 programs are not...
Hi folks, I've been running some tests to determine the viability of using the lookaround feature in the 3.3.3 firmware with an external recorder, but I'm running into a problem. I flat out -cannot- get a 720p signal out either of the HD-SDI or the HDMI. Can anyone confirm this is a firmware...
Hi folks, title explains most of my question.. is there a good way for someone using a PC to transcode .r3d files for someone to cut in FCP? I've yet to see any intuitive way to transcode to prores outside of a Mac, which in this case I do not have access to. FCP folks, what other formats would...

Blackmagic just announced this new version it appears, and it looks interesting to me (not the least of which because it's affordability)
Would love to hear your thoughts.
I know there are plenty of people interested in this, so I figured I would make a thread where people could coordinate if they want to. Mods if this is not allowed please delete, sorry if so.
I'll start.
Looking for: 1/4 of a 64GB pack
Location: Austin, TX
Alright so I'm working out how I'm going to set things up on this camera when it arrives, and I think I am getting close but I know it's not quite there yet. Could anyone offer suggestions?
I would like to have the LCD mounted on top, but also use an outrigger/side style handle, so I will need...
Hi folks,
I hope I haven't missed something obvious here, but I have a Scarlet on order and I am looking into setting up a steadicam/glidecam/etc. rig; I figured the EPIC crowd would know best what works and what doesn't! I am looking to keep things under $4000 if possible, so if you have any...
