Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Hey folks-
Just wanted to let you know I'll be signing RED: The Ultimate Guide to Using the Revolutionary Camera at the NAB Book Store on Wednesday April 13th from 3-4pm. Please stop by and say hello- book or no. :)
Best,
Noah
Looking for someone to shoot b-roll footage of famous landmarks, locations etc in Philadelphia on Oct 8, 2010. Should have own gear- RED, 5D M2, or something along those lines with preferably own dolly and/or jib. Will be permitted with city, so no worries about running and gunning. Just looking...
We're already in touch with RED about this but before we send out camera back in just wondering if anyone has seen symptoms like this:
RED ONE MX sensor upgraded, Build 30.5.0.
As soon as the camera comes on the false color mode pops on by itself. The on-screen image vibrates and then it won't...
Ok this is way off topic but also kinda not really. A lot of us like to have a cup of coffee to get through those all-nighter RED shoots and post work. I'm into these pod machine coffee makers like Nespresso and Keurig: http://www.keurig.com/
Anyone got a particular favorite?

Ok so we have just received our new M-X sensor for one of our RED One. Any resources for getting this footage loaded into Color/FCP? Beta plugins- etc.

I'm looking for a nice 1-2 minute reel that gives a good summary of what RED can be used for features, music videos, commercials, sports, etc. I've looked at the one's on the RED site and they're great but just a bit too... well intense for this particular audience. Looking for something that...
They are on pre-order as of today- what's the verdict. http://www.apple.com/ipad/
To me this looks like a fun next-generation device you could easily find a use for somewhere on a set. But then again it's pricey and it's version 1.0. What say you?
Noah
Just a thought but wouldn't it make sense to make a lost/stolen equipment sub-forum in RED DISCUSSION. That way all such threads can be easily organized and found there instead of spread out all over REDuser. Might actually help in getting some of the stuff back if people see all those threads...
For anyone curious to know more about the new ProRes codecs in Final Cut Studio '09 and how they might fit into your RED workflow, Apple has released a new technical whitepaper:

I'm not a rider of motorcycles, but this sure looks industrial strength badass and seems somewhat like RED's ways of doing things:

This is for my upcoming book, RED: The Ultimate Guide to Using the Revolutionary Camera. We're in publishers' overtime now, the book comes out August 20th. We're looking to add an appendix of the coolest behind the scenes photos. If you've got anything you want to send, please respond to this...
Quick question- what in your opinion are the 4 biggest movie production cities? For RED mostly but also general for TV/movies. (This is going in my RED book).
thanks,
Noah
Hi Folks-
I know this is an odd request but I'm looking to place a few quotes from high-profile Directors and DPs on the cover of the book talking about using the RED ONE. I can send over samples, so they can see what it is they're endorsing if interested. If you happen to have a line on...
Almost almost done with the book- I can feel it. We're looking for an example of a shot log customized for RED. You know, shot name, reel information, comments, production title, etc.
If you have something like this made up perhaps in Excel we'd love to have it and print it with a credit to...
