Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
I still use my Helium and where I work at we use Monstro, Helium, and V-Rator X
Weapon was so far ahead of it's time it's still good today. And it's depressing seeing how the prices are low for them-it's not even worth it to sell at this point.
DSMC2 is very reliable, have had much less problems (literally none over the years) with that generation over the previous, and even DSMC3. I still shoot on monstros and heliums weekly.
Only thing to consider is how much longer Red would continue to support repairs in the future. Eventually...

Seems like most firmware updates I see from RED has more Canon lenses getting support and rarely see Nikons! I don't care for autofocus, but could we at least get aperture control? In particular the 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR, and 70-200 f/2.8 VRI (but the VR2 works???). If Nikon lenses are so tricky...
Sorry if this may seem like a stupid question: I have a 5k iMac and use Premiere Pro CC. I know Apple claims that the 5k retina iMac is 10 bit. My question is if anyone knows for certain if I could use that 5k display to monitor HDR when using rec2020 in Premiere?
Thanks!
Still frames from a short I DP'd. We wanted a modern-like "film noir" look, with possibly a bleach-bypass for the final color correction. No budget for the Red, it was shot with the Panasonic HPX 500.
I'd like some feedback.
