Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Just yesterday I was on a doc shoot where circumstances forced us to film with smart phones instead of cinema cameras (my Komodo).
Those situations make smart phones like the Oppo a bit intriguing.

I'm finishing up a project so may not update for a few weeks but this does look like an interesting feature. This Color match actually looks usable.
If it can consistently get shots at least 80% close to matching then I would be satisfied with it.
I still like and primarily work with FCP but...
I have used some of MultiDyne’s broadcast gear on various shoots and they are usually quite reliable.
I never used any of MRMC’s products but they always seemed quite solid.
Surprising that MRMC was upended like this in such a sudden fashion.
I hope this is a nice new beginning for them.
I...
Hey Rand,
I actually bought the Topaz video plugin based on a post you made some years ago.
The software worked quite well for uprezzing RED 2K footage shot for slow motion.
I still use the software but stopped upgrading after Topaz went to a subscription only model.
I don’t know the...
I'm up for volunteering to help manage the spam. Granted, I'm deep into some projects and shoots but I will make it point to make time
for freeing the board of spam. I know of another trustworthy member who expressed interest as well.
For many reasons (some you notably pointed out) RU still...
Hey Jeff,
I and at least one other member of the board has expressed interest in keeping this board
clean of spam. Posts are getting lost in this bot storm and it would be unrealistic for cleanup
to be placed on one person's shoulders.

That seems like a prudent approach.
REDs are can be overkill for some situations and even I have some clients that just want a basic ProRes with zero grading which might seem like a waste of tech as far as a RED is concerned.
I work in teams but I also do a bit of solo shoots even with my...
With the current 3-4x and counting increase in prices for hard drives and SSDs I definitely feel your quest for smaller file sizes.
I always start with 5K LQ as my base setting and only go to 6K if I need the wider field of view. I have started using 6K a little more with ELQ and it works...
In the jpgs you posted (which albeit are compressed) there is a bit of detail difference particularly in the higher contrast parts of the image like the letters on the microscope.
There is also a difference in the"grain structure" where the pixels and noise are smoother in the R3D image compared...
Hey Charlie,
Do you know what the Debayering (Decode) quality is set to in Resolve?
If the debayering quality is set too low you will definitely see a softer less detail image even in 6K.
Full Res. Premium is the best quality setting.
