Steve, thanks so much for spearheading the event. I had a great time talking to Ted, Deanan, Stuart, Graeme and Jarred. Thanks to Kelly and everyone at Red for making this happen-- it really does help me understand the product, the process and how to position my company to take advantage of the opportunities the future holds. There's so much critical information that you don't get anywhere else.

A special thanks also to Jim for his generosity and his hospitality.

One of the most telling things of the event for me was how remarkably patient and giving of their time, Jim and Jarred were with the working prototypes of EPIC over the 12 hour day. At any given time, you saw Jim's sunglasses in the middle of a swarm of people, or Jarred's head sticking up over the top of another one, somewhere in the place at any given time.

They probably had to answer the same questions a few hundred times, folks got demonstrations right there in front of them from the big dogs. Some got to hold, and handle the working prototypes, etc.

I just thought it was pretty wild given that it was probably a pretty intimate experience for a lot of people (relatively speaking) to get such generous one-on-one time with either Jim or Jarred and the prototype cameras. Something that you just don't see all that often in owner/customer relations. And, it was kind of unexpected given the circus that the place was. Sooo many people turned out throughout the day. Several thousand, probably, and that obviously creates some issues of its own. So, it was pretty cool to see Jim and Jarred grinding away in that environment.

They really went out of their way, and were extremely accommodating given the circumstances. It was truly an event for the people who were actually there, as opposed to just a big press-release or whatever.

Just need a bigger space next year

That was one of the coolest days ever, having everybody there to answer random questions.

It was nice to meet you as well my friend. I know that you are just as excited about seeing Scarlet make an appearance, and I believe you were standing nearby when Jim said that Scarlet would be released about 2 months after Epic hopefully around Aug/Sep. Thanks once again for the Macbook recommendation as well.

I, along with my wonderful wife and 18 month old son (I believe he was the youngest reduser in attendance), had a great time and were very impressed with all of the professionalism of the RED staff and all those in attendance. My highlights for the day were:
- Being there with my wife and son
- Watching all the RED presentation footage in 4K
- Witnessing the great live setup for the EPIC demo
- Seeing the Scarlet and all the great gear on display
- The food was great as well
We capped off a two week long road trip from San Antonio, TX through most of California then stopped in Vegas on the way back home to Texas. We drove over 4000 miles total for the trip, and it was awesome. Here are some pics from the event. Thank you once again.

Was great to meet you and talk to you. Your kid is awesome.

I, too, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Red Day. The first person I saw when I walked in was Jim talking to a small group while passing around the Epic. I walked right up and held it too. That kind of openness and availability to the people at the top is very rare and and very appreciated. But with the amount of posts Jim puts on reduser, should I be surprised?

I love my 2 Reds (Bill & Ted) and the money is in the back for the Epic upgrades. This event, and you all, answered all my questions and as much as I knew I wanted to upgrade, after seeing the MX reel in 4K I am convinced it is the right decision. What Grame and the team have done with the color science is just magic!

Thank you all for making great cameras that you love and I love. Your enthusiasm for your products is infectious and being able to hear it from Jim and Jarrad huddled around those small tables in the Tropicana was fantastic.

Again, thank you guys for a great event! I look forward to seeing you all again at the next one.

Thanks Steve. When you said all ages welcome, I thought it would be great to take my wonderful, supportive wife and my little reduser with me. You did a great job getting the whole event put together. It was also really cool to meet Jim, Jarred, Ted, ect. My wife and I also had a great time sitting down and shooting the breeze with Graeme and sharing photos of our kidos. Great event. You should be proud of your accomplishment.

Hey Rogelio. Good meeting you and your family. It was a surprise for me to see an 18 month reduser at the event. No doubt, the youngest reduser I've met. I have a good feeling your little reduser will be doing great things with Red in the coming years.

Zhibo, that first pic will give me nightmares tonight. I still feel bad people had to wait in line as long as they did. By 11am, that line was a few hundred deep. Registration process will be a lot different in the future.

Only suggestions I have for next year are:

Make the vendor area lighter, brighter, roomier. It felt too dark and creepy in that room. Open bar was a huge bonus, though.

Set up an area where 5K RAW > 4K RGB can be projected on a continuous loop at 4K, so people can really walk right up to the screen and do some serious pixel peeping at their own leisure. The NHK guys had their 4K footage playing all day, where you could actually crawl up to the screen on some carpet and take a very, very close look at the projection quality. I would highly suggest this. As it was, I was sitting like 100 feet away from the screen..

The party room was much darker than anticipated. Not sure exactly why either.

Not to add to your nightmare Steve, but we saw the line and actually turned around and came back at 3PM, that line was so long!

Glad to hear the process will change, perhaps let everyone go sit down in the theater and make sign in go way faster (more stations) and separate the raffle table.

That's my two cents. Other than that, I liked the venue much better than the RIO for the sheer fact we didnt have to walk 2 miles to our rooms
