  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

San Francisco in 4K

Hey Patrick great to see you on here... amazing shots, man! I am super impressed. Was this an MX camera?

Can't wait to shoot some shorts this summer.

Best,

Omar

Really nice job. You really captured the feel of San Fran.

Awesome stuff, Patrick. I also would be interested in whether it is M or MX...

wow really nice
may i ask what framerate u were shooting at for the normal speed shots ?

Fantastic shots. Now I really have to get to San Francisco again, been way too long.

(Do you need permission to shoot in the streets?)

I didn't have any permission to shoot in the streets, I'm pretty sure you need it, but I just went out with a tripod and the camera and one friend. I didn't shoot much of the cable cars because down on Powell St. where they have the famous turn-around for the cable cars I know the SF Film Commission is extremely strict and will ticket you or confiscate your camera. Haha no way I'm bringing a RED anywhere near that!

I shot almost everything at 4K 16:9 at 23.98 FPS with 1/48th of a shutter. Then A lot of the timelapse was sped-up in post because I wanted static shots to sell as stock footage, and I don't really think time-lapse on the RED is that practical because it uses up so much power, and a DSLR can shoot much higher resolution images when shooting time-lapse, ya know? The only times when I did actual timelapse was on the roof-tops at night because I couldn't get the shutter open any more and I didn't want to go to an ISO above 320.

Cool stuff. It was a week ago from last Thursday that I got to visit California for the first time, and last Monday was when I also got to see San Francisco.

Wow, I'm inspired and jealous at the same time. This is the kinda stuff I should be out shooting here.

Amazing compositions. Great eye man! Let me know if you ever need a grip or hand.

I just wish everyday was that clear in the city!
