  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X V2

This is massive. RedCine-X is a full fledged grading app now. I am eagerly anticipating the day where it acts like a plugin for Sony Vegas (that saves the intermediate render).

Yay! RGB Curves! My prayers (personal messages) were answered!

And now supported...

This just made my day too :) See you guys on Wednesday, if not sooner!

Modules!
Starting with Magic Bullet Looks...

One question remaining about module support.

Will there be an open sdk / api, so that everybody who wants to try it out can give it a shot, or will it be only for authorized partners/companies like with the R3D SDK?

That looks just awesome!!! Can't wait to get that piece of software....
Split screen and Media unmounting option would be really cool though!
Not just for on set work...

2 questions:

1-is it true that redcine-x is a 8 bit color application?
2- does it support tangent wave as well (tanger website say so...)

thanks

More refined OpenEXR.

Shazam! Will OpenEXR preserve overbrights and superblacks? Beyond 1.0 and below 0.0?

And OFX support? Music to my ears.

Will REDCineX have CLI or are you hoping to handle all that through the scripting language?

Flip Flop function for s3D Left Eye Processing

Flip Flop function for s3D Left Eye Processing

Excellent work RED team! Thank you for working so hard on this... and for nothing?!?! Surely you'll be charging for this soon?

I love the RGB curves and the new audio syncing functionality. Would love to see some tools for s3D (I know your working on some). For starters it would be great to be able to flip or flop the Left mirrored eye before data processing. If the L and R eyes could be combined for side by side deliverables that would be AMAZING!

Yes to Wave and Also Euphonix MC Color now.

REDcineX Does everything in 16bit/float but can output 8/10/16 bits.

The images on the computer monitor go out at 8bit because that's all DVI supports (at least 99%).

Stereo 3D features are being worked on.
(it require some core changes)

Deanan thats very impressive no doubt.

Enjoying the constantly improving layout, UI, control options, and overall direction.

Im gonna color my tomorrow's Floyd Mayther footage with your crazy app. and look forward to sending it to ya.

Luis.

Ordered & attached UI, RGB curves, 3rd party support and 3D monitoring coming...

Deanan, you make my day. Many thanks to everybody.

Well If they continue this way I don't mind charging. It would be great if they make two versions: one free with basic features and one ($$$) with more sophisticated features for those who want to finish all their RED gradings in REDCINE-X.
That would be a great help especially for Windows guys..

Fantastic! Does this mean the standard Mac version of MBL will magically show up? There is a 30% off sale at Red Giant until the 18th. Be great to know what the deal is so I can take advantage of it if this is the case.

Thanks Deanan, very exciting!

Jim

That is my question as well, I have MBL already for Final Cut Pro, how will it work?
