  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB... Tropicana

Sweet, the progress advancing in the right direction!! hope we can se some footage soon! I can´t go NAB so please take alot of pictures! Keeping my thumbs we se scarlet this summer!!!

They mentioned that the HDR mode might not be available straight away when Scarlet is released, but that a firmware update would enable it a few months later, when they'd finished working on it. I highly doubt the HDR mode will be ready for NAB, but who knows...
 
I could not possibly pass up the opportunity of Reducation and NAB and Red day
I am going to go home glowing like a tomato with all the RED.
 
I saw a video of a company using your Epic prototype on Vimeo the other day (it was for a shoot for VIV magazine's iPad edition). Pretty cool to see it's use in the "wild"...

Nah... I saw that video too. The narrator incorrectly said "RED camera using their new EPIC Mysterium-X chip", but it was a RED ONE MX. I did a double take. After watching it a second time, the BTS they were showing clearly had a RED ONE in it...

Oh.... I guess that was a R1 prototype body.... well that stinks.
 
Is there a RED group code for rooms at the Tropicana that night?

I feel like yelling out a four letter word right now. I sure wish I could afford going to NAB, but I better save the money so I can buy into the EPIC-X when it's released!
 
Went to book a room and it asked if I had a group code. Thought I would throw it out here.

Really want to see a working proto of Epic. Need to save that $
 
It worries me that a Scarlet prototype isn't ready by now... I'm getting the feeling that we won't be seeing them until after summer. I know RED is working their hardest, and I'll wait for the Scarlet until it's available, but I can't help but feel a little bummed out. That said, big congratulations on EPIC.
 
Will all the modules be available to enjoy?

EPIC is a pre-requisite for the Scarlet. Any development on the EPIC-X has the nature of directly influencing the Scarlet's progress.

Don't be discouraged...only keep the faith.

Correct. RED has a lot of time to finesse their HDR capabilities...

I hear ya, but from whats been said, and I can't say this logic or outlook on my potential purchases allows it to sit well with me; "It's done when it's done".

So my sentiments are as follows, let the Pro's have their day/s, more attention goes to Epic right now, or at least thats only my perception, simply from the information we get from RED, regarding updates. This may have to be the case considering Alexa. And I'm sure EVENtUALLY Scarlet will have her day.

It should've been evident of Scarlet's place in the product pecking order. First was Oct. 30th, which was SPECIFICALLY geared towards EPIC, and one month later Nov. 30th, completely focused on Scarlet.

It just makes sense why it's done this way, I just can't say logic always makes me feel good, sometimes I want what I want, when I want it. LOL

I JUST thought of what this quote reminds me of, LOL

When we were kids we would go on these LONG road trips, sometimes 7hours or more; and as a kid that was a lengthy time. But we would seemingly annoyed the CRAP out of my dad when we would ask how much longer we had until we got there.

His answer after the 7th time of us asking "WE'LL GET THERE WHEN WE GET THERE"

So I learned not to ask that question again, and learned to deal with it, and attempt to have patience, even when I was excited for the outcome/destination.
