Defninitely the one where the negative feedback-er accuses them of selling fake Oakleys =)

I'd go for the one at 3.999 listed under Blueray DVDs and where the description is not text but an image file. Sounds very trustworthy.

Not.

Personally, I would never, ever buy an expensive camera on eBay.

P.S. Sadly, Matt isn't even joking - one guy really does sell fake Oakleys. Geesh.

"First buyer that will contact me at teparik@gmail.com can buy it now for $4000 with shipping and handling included."

wow, its either one of the many stolen reds or a complete scam trying to deal outside ebay haha.

i contacted him and he will not give me the serial number...

"I'm sorry but I can't give you the serial number because the camera is at UPS office in box, ready to be shipped. Let me know your full name, address(shipping address) and ebay id so I can contact eBay to start the transaction."

really!

PASS!

edit...item has been removed!

The $4000 number seemed very arbitrary. Wouldn't $15,000 have believable?

$4,000.00 = 4k...get it!

Hey, I got that same response too! He also mentioned it was a birthday gift he's selling to cover some bills, it has been upgraded to MX, and the $4k covers the RED registration ownership transfer.

I asked him for his Reduser username. Who wants to bet we're not getting that out of him either.

Either way, someone's going to have gotten the deal of a lifetime, be out $4000, or is going have their house broken into.

Help!

The guy offered me a 3 for 2 deal, so I sent him 8.000 bucks via Western Union to his account in Nigeria (he told me he had to fly there because his auntee had just passed away.). Now I cannot get hold of him.

Please advise.

Did you email him your debit card number and pin? Otherwise, I don't think he can claim the $8000 from Western Union. You should send it ASAP, along with your social security number, so he knows it's definitely yours. I'm sure he'll get back to you in no time.

Oh, yeah, Martin, hey, I met his Auntie. She's doing much better now and is directing her own feature and needs a full Red package. She's willing to pay all shipping costs and a week rental in advance. She's really a nice person.

There was a guy who created a thread a while ago talking about how his dad got the RED One camera as a gift to him, he couldn't register the serial to get firmware, so it turns out his dad dealed with shady people and the RED was stolen.

So that's your guy, if you scrounge or anyone remember you can find the thread.

:biggrin5:

the plot thickens....more once i check one other thing out!

Interesting...

This $4000.00 Red scam failed because the poster is stupid. What if the price had been more realistic? What if a phony serial had been provided?

More importantly, why did it take eBay so long to take this down?

I'd like to know if they are taking any legal action against the "seller."

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo
