$10 ?! Costs nothing to print out the menu maps and manuals. Am I the only one who has the manual in a binder with all other important doc, to include menu maps?

I'm sorry Howard, I just don't see the $10 value in an app that provides what others provide for free.

I have the same Shawn .....

I'm guessing by Shawn's comment that this app is just the manual for RED for the iphone and nothing more?

Dude? Go easy on people man.

$10 isn't that much for a useful reference you can search and that you don't have to carry with you separately. I can think of a lot of things RED owners buy all the time that have less utility or provide less convenience per $ spent. Who wants to carry an extra binder with documentation all the time.

I print the manual and have it with me...

I would buy this for the charts ect ect and because it's a nice little toy for the Red, but not at $10...

I keep my binder handy too but I love this app. Even if all it was was an electronic, searchable manual that updates with whatever build version you want (I've build 21.4.1 and the 30.4.1 beta manuals installed)...that would be worth $10. I'd probably spend that on paper and inkjet ink printing it myself anyway.

But the app has a bunch of other cool stuff too:
focus chart
false color chart
max fps charts for RC 28,36, and 42
shutter speed/degrees charts
a file size/time calculator based on resolution x frame rate x RC

totally worth $10 bucks to me. Thanks Howard...great app.

To me, the ability to instantly search through the hundreds of menu options seems completely worth the one-time fee of $10.

I love it! No need to have the manual physically with me all the time. Plus, it has a bunch of other stuff. It costs the same as a value meal of a fast-food restaurant... I already have my ROI, times 10.

Thanks Howard!

I'm guessing I go through $10. in paper and ink printing every updated RED manual. Downloaded the app....love it.....and can't wait to use it on my iIPAD.

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying it. I say, "To each his own." If you prefer hard copies, printing is the way to go. If you're obsessed with your iPhone, apps are nice too. I like gadgets so I lean towards the iPhone solution.

best,
Howie

Sensible logic. I don't know if I've spent $10 in printing any of the RED manuals, or ever will, I typically just keep the manual PDF on my iPhone. That said, I don't think $10 is out of line for the app. Problem is that there's so many garbage, cookie-cutter apps out there for $0.99, so everyone just expects everything to be that cheap. My wife blows through $10/day in Starbucks alone, I don't see what the complaint is about. It's an app with a limited audience and is a hell of a lot more useful than 99% of the apps on the app store (at least to those of us with a RED camera).

Hopefully the app will be updated to be iPad/iPhone hybrid. Apple is accepting iPad apps for submission now, literally as of about 2 hours ago, and I'd love to see this app load up and use the full iPad screen without invoking the 2X zoom. Add int multiple view features for combined data and search on the screen, make use of the iPad beyond what the iPhone can do...

Howard, there is definitely an error in your explanation page regarding Clean - System>Setup>Program.

Your Explanation: Clean - No Display to the HDMI or HD-SDI outputs

This should be - Clean - DOES NOT display camera, clip information or frame guides on the HDMI or HD-SDI outputs.

Wonder if there are any more of these. Can we have a Edit function to add to explanation to include our own notes

Lim

thanks for the note - I'll make sure it's addressed for the next update.
