Got a chance to check out the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 lens that Duclos modifies for cinema use and was very happy with the footage I got. I believe all of these clips are shot at 11mm. The ones in the day time I stopped down to between f16-f22 and almost all of the night shots are wide open at f2.8, except for the timelapse shots. Most of those were around f5.6. The shots in the day I tried to keep around ISO 800 but some of them I had to go down to ISO 500. The shots at night are anywhere from ISO 800-ISO 3200. This is a great little lens that I hope to add to my collection some day.

Here's the clip.

Thanks Andrew,

Very nice images.
I too want this lense :)

Sweet ! The shots of the Smoke House brought back some vivid memories of a series of strange nights spent there.

Isn't diffraction an issue at those f stops?

I didn't see any evidence of any diffraction. The lens I believe goes to f32 or something like that. I think that shot with the clouds over the ocean was around f9-f11. I had a .9ND in there and was at 180° shutter. The shots with the train I believe was the most closed down at f22.

Here's a pic of the lens I got to shoot with.

where'd ya get the groove red color version?

M

From Matthew Duclos. As I understand it the lens is his personal one. Kind of wish they would do some more like this because it looks cool.

Andrew,

very nice pictures.

I have that lens in Nikon GDX version and using

16:9 little adapter for Nikon G

to control aperture on my R1 and also 7D (with additional Nikon to EOS Canon adapter).

Andrew, great shots. Loved the scenes at the train station in San Juan Capistrano. I live 3 min away from that station and have shot there multiple times. The first shot is at USC correct?

The first shot is in front of Modern Video right next to Warner Bros. That train station was nice but next time I want to go down into the Metro by Universal studios and shoot some stuff down there.

Sorry. That's a one off model. :coolgleamA:
Thanks for the footage, Andrew.

Any moderators that see this, I'm really not asking people to post for me in any way.
I don't want to get in trouble...

Finally got a connection to watch this. Really sweet FOV and image quality on that lens. I'd love to get one!

You're cool. ...But only if you let me trade in my 11-16 for one of those fancy red-colored ones. :)

Yeah I wish I could get one in that color as well. The lens looked cool on my RED MX One.
