  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Reduser iPhone App!!

As much of a pain as it is, I don't feel like charging people (for this app). At least not until major features are implemented (ie submitting a new thread/post, caching, etc).
 
As a REDuser sponsor, I have no issue as long as there was a provision made for banner ads to make it to the iPhone app without being an annoyance to the enduser. But appear in some way they must.

Want to second this.

I can't speak for Jarred or the powers that be here, but I'm sure you will want [need] to incorporate hooks for sponsor banners if you want any official support from those that run the site. ...Just sayin'

Other than that, it looks like it's off to a good start. And definitely would want new posts ability and other basic functionality.

It'd be nice to have a general CameraUser App that incorporates all of the User forums under one App. Kind of like how the I Can Has Cheezeburger App also includes FailBlog and I Has a Hotdog (I love those sites), this App can have DVXUser, along with REDuser and Scarletuser.

But if you can only just do a Reduser App, that's fine with me.

Mitch to be fair, there are countless 'mobile' versions of websites which do not include the same advertising as the full version. Its doubtful people are paying much attn to the ads anyway when they are on their iphone. This is a free non official reader that is scraping the site for content to make is accessible on the iPhone. It will hardly impact the effectiveness of your advertising.

Just as you can't control users not using ad blockers in firefox, you can't control how they view content on a mobile device.

Abel's (and your) value on this site is your knowledge and participation which *will* still be accessible even without your ads.

I do understand where you are coming from though. Just my $.02
