I mostly use my Red on a steadicam or on a Tripod.
Unlike handheld operators I like the shape and weight of the Red One.
In terms of size, weight and rigidity it is my favorite camera for steadicam.
Looking at the Epic I have the following concerns
The original Epic pictures had a flat top with threads which was perfect,
now there is 1 line of threads in the front of sensor module and no flat surface.
For steadicam we need a rigid top plate that attaches to the front and back.
Are the V mount modules complete rigid when attached, i.e. no play at all.
We need a top plate like the Element Technica cheese plate with 15 mm rods that would attach to the front and to one of the modules in the back.
Are you keeping the 2 threaded 3/8" holes with 50mm spacing on the Epic?
2 threads are very important. The 50mm spacing works well with the steadicam plates.
Is it possible to add scan invert? This would allow shooting low mode on the steadicam with the camera upside down and would save time when switching from high to low.
The ideal would be to invert the read out direction of the sensor.
If that's not possible, then maybe you could have the BNC output inverted and provide a option to invert the image in RedCine-X.
An earlier build had the option to magnify playback on the the camera.
This is useful for a quick focus check. Could you put that in the Epic.
