Thanks to my incredible skill and talent (OK, blind luck ;-)) I will have one of the first MX equipped RedOnes. I am based in southern California and have quite a bit of kit to support the camera if needed.

I cannot make any specific promise as to when I will get #19 back from RED but I assume before the end of January.

Cheers - #19

Curious about RED's new MX sensor? Contact me if you would like to check out this purportedly 13 stop DR sensor. Run your own tests and see the results on the Ecinema in a calibrated viewing environment complete with Scratch color grading tools to dig into the image.

Nice Blair! I suppose that means RED is up to serial # 0019 at this stage, 1781 must be just around the corner! :crying:
I am sure you will turn out some early MX business, very interested to hear your personal thoughts and feedback on the upgrade.

best

Blair will you raise your rental price? If so what do you think it is worth?

I do not plan to raise my rental price. I should note that even with the relative glut of RedOnes in SoCal I did not drop my price this last year. Why?

Regardless of the list price of the camera body IMO a properly maintained professional camera package with a full compliment of accessories should be rented at a price commensurate with the value it represents. I anticipate that the MX upgrade will cause an uptick in rentals, but I do not consider it good business practice to jack my rates as I think it can alienate potential long term customers.
