  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Old Red One Camera's?

Getting rid of 3-5 thousand camera's might be a bit of an environmental problem. Probably best to break them down and repurpose the parts instead of storage or landfill.

So, you got 3-5 thousands devices in your hands, each worth thousands of dollars. What do you want to do?
Ask yourself this difficult question.
Of course you don't sell them! only a stupid person would want to make some millions. Wait, no. More then money, you hate the environment: so, rather than make some money, you think hey, what about landfill or destroy 3-5000 devices, would it be ok for the environment?

repurpose what? Have you ever seen a company going back to retired technological products in order to repurpose something? for more compatibility hell.

How did you get such a fantastic idea?

My thinking - Rebrand them as Red R1-X or something with the new Mx sensor. There would be a very big market for this - Epic is out of price range of large segment of shooter market now using Red.

Of course. Thats what I would do, no doubt. They may leave a number of these with their original sensors, to fullfill a further price sector. But since now they have shown a more forward thinking. They want to deliver the best. So, why not upgrade all the sensors?
They may also decide to put some sort of extra or new (esclusive?) options on those older models too to make them even more attractive for lower budgets.
The base is already very large.
They can design many new accessories for the thousands of Red Ones being used every day all over the world, or re-design a couple of older accessories, or make something completely different for this great platform. Who knows?
