Does anyone know when the next announcement will take place? Although the 30th November announcement was good, it left a large number of questions unanswered and actually created new ones. So does anyone know when we'll be getting more information?

No new announcement of another announcement. Yet.

I can only assume the next announcement will be the release date.

Ted seemed to indicate in an interview almost a week ago that the information was forthcoming in the near future. Could be this week. I wouldn't expect it to be any later than the first of the year though, and very likely much sooner than that.

I suspect him and Jim will need to debrief from their trip to Asia first.

We can either announce stuff, or we can get work done.

I hope the next announcement has footage in the r3d format available for download in order for potential buyers to access to work on in RedcineX. As well I hope to see some images form each camera Epic, Scarlet Fixed, and Cinema in order to compare the DOF and image quality.

I think he is referring to the policy that it is either first initial full last, full first and last initial, or full name. but I have seen some people who don't fit into this so who knows.

I know, but his name (Duke) could have seemed like too odd of a name to Ace to put it into the category of a real name, so he just assumed it as such, (last names and initials aside).

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that I have seen others' screen names as first names only, and a moderator has not come by to make a comment.

Edit: But I could be wrong, as everyone is prone to be.

it's not the first priority of the moderator's to go through the entire list of everyone that's ever gotten on the site and hound them about their names. they simply call 'em like they see 'em. the mods are pretty cool guys really, just like us, except maybe cooler. they just politely enforce such things and keep the peace. which usually isn't too hard with this bunch, unless someone brings a bomb, apparently.

I'd be more than happy for you to exchange the time you spend reading people's question about "when will the next announcement be" with time you could spend making the announcement.
