Tim, I love your Ghostbusters style photo with all the street light halos!

Cheers all,

Paul

A couple of recent photos taken with 40D (as my 7D was out on a rental) and Canon EF 70-200 f2.8L IS USM zoom lens:

And one I took recently in Hiroshima, of the Atomic Dome (closest building to hypocenter of explosion to survive partially intact).

I particularly like this photo because the moon seems to represent the instant the bomb exploded overhead, a frozen moment in time with the carnage forever captured below in its present state.

It's eerie to be standing there, realising the enormity of what happened sixty years ago and seeing the bustle of modern Hiroshima all around it....

Cheers,

Paul

Very powerful picture. Must really be something to be standing there.

Just bought a Canon 7D and some close up macro lens set. This is my first DSLR so I'm just sort of messing around at this point.

This was shot with the 10+ closeup lens attached to the front of my 28-135 canon zoom.

My first post for this forum will unfortunately have nothing to do with a RED camera although there is an extreamly ambitious project that I have in mind in which a RED camera would be ideal (I need something that shoots in 120p for very smooth 720 60p slow motion). Getting the talent to get it done very well is the easy part, affording to have Red cameras in the shoot is the hard part. I haven't had much luck in the lottery yet.

Anyway here are some of my photos. The first ones are shot with a Nikon D80 while the last ones are with a Panasonic GH1. On Flickr, you can download the original sizes for your viewing pleasure. Every single one of these is directly from the camera untouched. This is just a very, very small sample of what I have on Flickr.

Too cool, Tom .... how did the EOS 1D Mk IV images turn out? ... if you can cut your footage down to 4 minutes we'd love to see you on the Can-Do Film Festival and Competition web site .... you can intercut your 7D HD video with your 7D still shots ... should be pretty amazing.

The 1D4 is a pimp... the new King of the Night. The images look pretty damn good at ISO 6400. This will allow me to use new types of motion in astro timelapse.

Tom, show us what you've shot .... you shoot such great images of the expanding Universe that even Albert would be amazed .... I once had to explain Albert's Second Law of Relativity to my fellow USC student filmmakers ... not sure they totally got the concept ..... but I shot on JVC HD and projected on film in 5.1 surround sound ... they sat there for several moments in stunned silence before finally running off to watch the Football game ... the Universe is still an amazing mystery to most of us .... you do great work, Tom ... keep shooting, you have a great vision.

Thanks.

Can't believe I never noticed this thread before. I guess I'll take a shot at it.

Here's some pictures from a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP. Wish I had the equipment and experience then that I have now. What an amazing place both parks are! Defiantly need to revisit for a dedicated photo expedition.

Side Note: Tourists there are borderline retarded. Lets just say people had their kids outside of there car, sometimes hiding in a truck bed, as a grizzly bear crossed the road some feet away and others practically chasing after the bear as it attempted to find a safe spot to cross. No respect for wild animals at all:incazzato:
