  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

blah, blah, blah.... I'm a student, why buy a monitor, Scarlett next month, FF, etc, etc... details... details!!!!!!

I don't want to talk about any of that!!!!!!! Where the "F" do I send my money and how do I submit my new address (with a picture of me) under Julia Tuttle bridge so that fedex can find me!!!!

My wife just blew her top!!! Shes going to throw me, my farting dog and the stupid uniform I walk around in (Red Hat & Shirt) on the street!!!!

So again, where do i send the money!!!!!! Thats all I want to talk about!!!!

Sorry... but I think you have missed the point we have been trying to make for the past year... that you can put anything anywhere you want. These are examples only. Plus, the EVF is on an angle/extender base so you can push it forward, angle it up... to just about any position you need.

And the LCD? I mean can you shoot without some kind of monitoring device?

So we are talking about Scarlet Fixed body, CF-Card module and the 2.8" LCD?

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like it might have a swivel-mount underneath, which might be nice because if you turn your head, your eyes would be diagonal to the rig, which would be perfect for the optical viewfinder.

I'm not complaining but, it would have been nice if the Stage One customers also got a free hat with Tattoo on it.

What will come out the gigabit ethernet port? Will it be realtime streaming like I believe you can do with Thomson Infinity? Or just for file transfer similar to USB, etc.?
 
OK, how do I get in line for a Tattoo?
 
If I want to produce direct to BD movies, ignoring the ergonomics, would there be any difference in the finished quality (of the BD movie) if I used an Epic-X or a RED ONE with the 4500 upgrade ... is it the same chip and firmware in each case .... RED ONE with $4500 upgrade vs Epic-X? (using RPP's in each case)
 
Just for trivia buffs, how many RED ONES qualify ie what is highest serial number by Oct 29?

AF in video has never been very good. The way I see it, with touch screen LCDs and touch focusing, we are getting something way better than AF video mode.

You mean from the M-X sensor? Look at the announcement thread.... All of those photos I took are a mix of grabs from the RED ONE with M-X sensor and a FF DSLR. can you tell which is which?
 
Hypothetically, if the Red Gunner is a configurable servo mechanism that can engage the zoom gears of any lens, I'd say, "How utterly brilliant!" In one fell swoop Red solves EFP production with s35 and FF sensors! Hypothetically then, I take my hat off to the design team.

Actually the whole concept of the entire system is pretty amazing! Congratulations.
 
this is cool and all, but a camera isn't an ornament to be admired externally --- all that matters is what pictures you can make with it! where are the frame grabs? sample movies?

and by the way, how much does the scarlet cost?

I would say about 7020 and above. I know i just got mine shipped today, and the 7020 is the number i was given.
