My only concern as a non r1 owner is to do with accessories. Imagine spending 28k on just the brain and then being on the bottom of the list for accesories when the the people who are top of the list will already have a fully working kit due to their great loyalty deal. I think to be fair they should only sell the brain to new customers like me if they can guarantee to also ship the ordered accessories with it at least for the vitals.
The fan intake is on the front of the brain and the exhaust is in fact the vents on the top.
I thought the sensor was in a sealed area of the body? The air doesn't flow through there? does it? I guess it just removes heat from the body.

I'm a student filmmaker, and unless there are some announcements that have not taken place yet, I am very disappointed with the pricing. I thought the whole idea behind Scarlet and Epic was that Scarlet would be for folks like me, attending school or people who just do not have a budget, and Epic would be for the professionals. However, it seems like all of the accessories have Epic-sized pricing
Jarred, didn't you say something about the BOMB EVF being available separate from the EPIC camera program? Do you have a date for that yet?
As someone who waited many months with the current EVF on backorder, I have to decide if I should buy one now that they are available, or wait (a bit) to get a BOMB...
I hope all the sensor data is fully available to program external devices via a software program that is user friendly???
I agree, there are a LOT of price options for Scarlet users. Consider this camera versus an HPX 170 or EX1/3 pricewise and functionality.
3 axis Gyro, 5 axis sensor adjustment, Metadata for 3 different lens mounts, RAW, 3k, redcode...the list goes on and on vs VDSLR. I'm pretty sure you're getting your money's worth and then some...and some more and more.
Compressed, sure. Uncompressed, no. This has been covered in the past - not only would the uncompressed data stream be practically useless when compared to the quality of the compressed stream, there isn't a practical means to transfer and store a data rate that high.
Do a search on the topic - Jim addressed this earlier in the year.
