Ed, I can share your feelings, but isn´t the term `cheat´ a bit harsh? CVB always offered a refund, in case you didn´t want to hold on to your reservation. Most of us stick to their commitment, which has turned into a long wait, because of a promise of an incredible value-for-money ratio of his unit. I am as unhappy with the situation as everybody else, but I am convinced that nothing of this was intentional.

Peter,
I asked for a refund already beginning this year and didn't receive anything and asked for a refund this morning again. Let's see what happen.
I agree the term cheating is a bit harsh let's say disrespectfull towards his custumers and really unprofessional.

Hey guys ok I will say that the waiting is getting out of line long, and that can cause a lot of damage to people that these difficult days try to make a living of this business.
I wouldnt use words as cheat though, I believe he will deliver.I also believe best way of communication is by phone.
I got around 25 emails from people needing help with cheap r/c style control lens solution Gosh I wasnt expecting that there are so many ...
Iam away from my designer PC right now and I will be able to provide Cads for the mounting of the rod servo brack after this weekend which I will be back from a business trip. Also there will be an option for those who dont know how or where to make these brackets to make them for you nicely done and anodised on CNC in my manufacturer facility. I wont be making any money on this I just want to help out but to do this option Iam going to need some quantity to get a cheap price. I believe I can make such a bracket fully adjustable for angle and possitioning for around $80-90 usd anodized from 6061 - t6 aluminum tool- less .Of course I can provide the same design for free if you want to make it your selve, no prob, as long as you do the job, cad design free.
Let me come back and see what I can do. The total cost of a tx/rx, servo plus bracket and bats should not cost you more than $600, and if wired even less around 200-300 dollars. That will save you some money on rentals on these jobs you can use it to, until you get your VF or other unit. There will be an optional extra for iris control as well. All you will need is an extra brack and servo.
I hope I can help.
Thanks
Constantine

Interesting to see everytime that Curt is not keeping his promises all kind of "friends" popping up with helpfull solutions. Personally if I'm so lucky to get a refund I certainly will not take the risk again to buy a cheapo system and will purchase something with a professional well reputated company like Arri.

"After the sweetness of low prices comes the bitterness of poor quality"

As always there some exceptions like Red offcourse

I find your post very insulting towards me and I think you are out of line.
If you implying that I work for Curt you are wrong man.
I only tried to give a cheap alternative as Pawel did before and help out with OUT MAKING ANY PROFET
The others r/c parts you could buy directly from your local shop.I only offered to make a bracket and a free cad design to those who are interested.
Thats all there is to it.
Try to address your anger to those you should and not to people you dont know or ever done business with.
On the other hand if anyone else thinks same as Ed Im sorry Iam offered to help out.
Pawel tried to help as well as Michael Hastings also.
Maybe Ed you should appreciate this.
Buy a prooven unit? wise decision. But what is that has to do with me?

Just a word of caution, way back in the olden times, the Sietz Wireless FF unit for the steadicam was based off of a Futaba airplane radio. It cost many thousands of dollars and sucked donkey balls. You can make a RC servo system work, but you are going to need to spend the money to get a Berg reciever, a decent transmitter etc. I think it is a giant waste of money to spend $600-700 bucks on a half assed system, when you could by a bartech and a used Heden motor for around 3gs, and it will retain it's resale value.

Nick

TX/RX has changed from these days Nick. Way ahead. I was using a system like this for steadicam work for 2 years and never let me down or got out of range or accurancy.
But its not pro, its noisy, and not acceptable to productions.
Its just a very cheap alternative. thats all there is to it.
You can also buy a second hand good tx/rx second hand system for 150-200 usd.
This is for cheapo solution and it should be addressed as one. But ONE thing though it will bit the shit out of any expensive system in distance range if that is of any use..
I agree with what you say though...
Insulting people is another thing and I wont accept this.

Eleftheria,

Don't be angry it's just a observation nothing personal. But can't we stay at the initial subject of this thread ANY INCLINO IMPERO NEWS???

ok guys, after everybody has let off some steam, can we go back to the waiting game, please?
Ed is waiting for his refund, I am waiting for my VF unit ...

After using a C-Motion w/ Heden motor on two short shoots last week, I feel that I REALLY need a wireless FF. More than ever. Sure hope my VF will ship soon! before I get desperate and order a Bartech. (The C-Motion is of course completely and outrageously out of my price range.)

Actually, it is on sale..... I was looking into it since I get almost so fed up with the waiting game that I am looking into an alternative,
the C-motion is 7770 euros (was 10000) for the 1 motor set and 15000 for the 3 motor set. I asked my assistant -who has Scorpio (and swears by it)- what to buy rather buys a Preston since it is rather cheap because of the cheap dollar for us europeans.

It is reduced but so is the way it's built. Quality will still be brilliant, but they have changed the material to make it cheaper building it. (A little like optimo rouges)

Just thought you should be aware of that.

The Bartech is still the great, bulletproof way to go if you just need a single channel (focus usually) along with run/stop. We're still selling plenty of them and Jim Bartell's service is terrific.

For a great two or three channel system, Arri has really stepped up to the plate with a relatively inexpensive rig with the strongest motors in the business. Now it's stereo ready as well.

We're based in New Zealand and had our first unit delivered several weeks ago and we're happy with the build quality. Now waiting on our backorder of second Impero and Inclino shipping today in-fact.

I've had no problems ever getting to speak with Curt... I just call him and he speaks to me directly. I think there are to many lazy people who would rather complain than get off their butts and give Viewfactor a call.

They are a small company but the product is sound and being shipped!
Hi Mi
I think we should be able to get instant answers by e-
mail too! It´s a company who works with direct marketing trough the webshop. E-mail should be the first way to go in communication with such a company.
BTW which is your VF number?
Marc (18 month waiting)

Hi Mi, Great news! Im glad to hear that you are happy with the quality. May I ask you when you placed your order

Call me lazy but I do 99% of my communication with e-mail since I live in another time zone that most of my clients (in this case provider). I excpect to have my mail answered sooner or later, but that just doesn't seem to happen with VF. I also expect Curt to post information when he says he's going to post them, but that doesn't seem to happen aswell.. Maybe he is busy on the phone ;) ? Anyway, I don't want to rant about the topic "why don't you just call them" because this has been discussed to length in previous post... Im just glad that there seem to be atleast some action going on, and that atleast one more customer received their long over due product!

Nick

Final word on R/C and then we'll move it to another thread. First this is not to compete with pro motors like heden or presumably the VF Inclino/Impero. It is for MOS applications where the noise is not a factor but size and cost is (like in my underwater housings). And I originally thought what you do about the R/C stuff but having looked into it recently it has changed a lot with the introduction of digital servos that allow easy programming of the limits, overdrive protection, speed, etc. It looks like we can manufacture and sell, with a little profit, a 2 servo system with wired control for about the price of a single inclino or half of a Heden motor in a small and lighter form factor. And it would be plug and play with a low cost radio available almost anywhere and allow very long distances.
