  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Control...

Correct assumption. When docked to the camera, REDmote is powered from the camera (and commences re-charging it's internal battery)

You can also recharge the REDMOTE from a standard 3rd party USB charger.
Badass. Totally badass.

REDmote

REDmote

How about multi-camera control?

Can we have 5 or 6 Epics in close proximity all on independent REDMOTEs?

Can we have 5 or 6 Epics in close proximity and control them all, in sync, from a single REDMOTE?

Yes and yes..

what is the new schedule?
not asking for any definite dates, but your own rough estimation.

Yep!

Good call Albert.

Would be helpfull to have an idea about the schedule :)

Thanks

Antoine

I'm waiting for the 645 but no doubt that will go with the FF and most likely the S35 as none of the other two will come out together or short after, so what ever comes out first will take IT, then if have to sale the brain and upgrade to the FF then sale the Brain and upgrade to the 645, I'm used to it :) just that this time I get to keep everything else :)

But seriously I see the S35 and possibly the FF not sure about the FF do, for Cinematography use and then for sure the 645 for all my future Still work no question, still will have to see what the future of RED will bring as far as lenses, not happy at all with what is available now, except the Leica S series lenses.

But I truly hope don't find myself in the position of having to dump 40k on the Leica S system, so will wait till next month for the good news to come, and the best Christmas ever, well actually the first good christmas ever, would be that the Brains will be available just about in short distance from each other, off course the best ever will be al at the same time, and then will each chose our match and stay with it, but this will be off course asking way to much..

Any chance of being able to attach a hand strap to the redhandle? If so, any chance for some Red brand straps?

I think those of us moving up from the HVX would like that extra security for hand held shots.

is there an estimated price range for the modules?- sorry didnt read through the 20 pages...and if release details includes price, nevremind

I'm pretty sure all that information will be announced in October. Availability, prices, specs, and pretty pictures. I think that's pretty generous of Red to even tell us that much.

Although it would be awesome if they gave us little hints like:

Redmote - in the thousands
Mini LCD - in the hundreds
Red Volt batteries - under a hundred
Pro I/O - thousands

I'm pretty sure I wont be able to afford the Bomb EVF and Pro I/O when I make my initial Scralet Fixed purchase. Really hoping that Redmote, battery and CF module are in my price range.

Oh man, an announcement that FF35 was following S35 closely and that both were coming out in the not too distant future would make for a truly amazing Christmas indeed.

Here's to at least FF35 before NAB!

Jim clearly said in the first post that he would announce about the delivery schedule in October, so we won't know until then.

Hey man, aren't you the bikes guy of XLH1? Long jump to here.

Brad I think it is more realistic to say:

Mini LCD - in the thousands - Likely under $3000
Red Volt batteries - Likely under $500

Current Pro 7" model is $2500 and current bricks are $450. The small 1800mAh Canon 5D battery costs $100 just for reference.

The LCD would be in the thousands?? I thougth the Scarlet fixed lens "ready to shoot" would be under $3750? You have to have some kind of EVF/LCD right to (realistically) shoot, right?

Will the remote display what the camera is shooting or just camera controls?
