RPP 18mm release estimate update?

[Tonaci Tran]

Last I read..the release would trail a couple months. Is this bad boy coming soon..maybe Sept? Any tidbits would be very much appreciated.

[sergio arguello]

hello anyone??

[Roberto Lequeux]

If possible, and wise, I also would love it if something could be shared on this ETA that so many of us are anticipating.

[Jarred Land]

Still tweaking... Don't worry you guys will be the first to know.

[Roberto Lequeux]

Thanks Jarred.

Hope it is going great!

[CJ Roy]

Really looking forward to this lens as well.

Thanks!

[Florian Stadler]

T1.8 please. No bigger/heavier than 25mm.

[Shawn Nelson]

Jarred, you thinking pre-Epic release or post-Epic release? I gotta figure out how to ration the funds

Agreed, I believe that's their design goals, perhaps thats why its taking longer

Correct-o

[Shawn Nelson]

I gotta say how absolutely fucking gorgeous the RPPs are. I got a set and everyone I show them to, from experienced ACs to hobbiest...their jaw just drops

[Roberto Lequeux]

Yea, and the 25mm is crazy good, so if it is any indication of their wide end plans and capabilities, the will be one bad-ass gun to brag about in your kit!!!

Glad to hear it. Looking forward to the 18mm, whenever it rolls around.

Hehe, could not have put this in a better way Shawn!

Impossible to answer.. as those are both unknown variables.

[Jim Hoffman]

Just make it as good (or better HA) than the other RPPs - they are reeeaaallllly nice.

I was just about to ask... set seems incomplete without the 18...

Before or after March? I need to do a budget for a feature and need to figure out if I need a Ultra Prime Set (with a 16mm lens) from The Camera House + the RED Prime set from Indie Rentals, or if I can get the full Red Prime set without the 16mm Ultra Prime (18mm Red instead).

Would actually save me about 6000 if it'll be ready by then.

[Roberto Lequeux]

If you really want to save consider renting a Duclos 11-16mm unless f/2.8 is too slow for you or you prefer UPs.
